When you talk about usrah, there will of course be many perceptions depending on who you are, what group you join, who your naqib is, and a few more other factors.
But all in all, excellence in some aspects of it will determine the the success the group itself.
So I pose this question, what do you think are the success factors of usrah? Why?

When 27 December 2008 arrived, we were shocked by the atrocities that happened to people of Gaza.
What shocked us even more was the fact that much, though not all, western media was distorted and very one-sided in presenting the situation in Gaza. They made it seem like they were attacking “terrorists” when the ones who were actually hit by most of their strikes were primarily civilians.
In response to this blatant abuse and violation of humanity, we launched the 5G* effort in Johor. An effort purposed towards encouraging solidarity between Malaysians, especially Muslim Malaysians, and the people of Gaza.
5G is a sudden explosion of talks and speeches on Gaza aimed at delivering the actual facts of the current situation in Gaza and its background and collecting as much funds as possible to help what we can in Gaza.
Even so, such an effort is not even barely enough for the sufferings the people of Gaza had to go through. In the end, the best we can all do is make du’a to ALLAH that He alleviate the sufferings of our brothers and sisters over there and that He help the mujahideen to win our country of Palestine back.

Wokay… It took me some time to actually begin writing this. Though I feel it’s rather because of mood rather than time.

KBM KI UTM at TIV
So… What the heck do the three letter abbreviations mean? KBM stands for “Keindahan BersamaMu”, which is supposed to mean something along the lines of “the beauty of being with you (Islam/fellow Muslims/God)”.
KI means Kelab Iqra’. Period.
UTM means (although you probably already know) Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. One of the premier government Universities in Malaysia.
The finally we have TIV, which means Tiram Indah Village. Although I’ll have to say that to say the place is “Indah” is very subjective. Speaking literally, it’s NOT beautiful. It is however a good place for training. We also have good rapport with the owner of the place. Thus the choice of place. Oh yeah, the food there is nice! Heheh.
Wokay. That’s over with the backgrounds. (I know, you don’t really wanna hear me babbling about definitions right?)

This time around the KBM event was for the latest additions to Kelab Iqra’ members list.
This put some questions in our minds. For instance, will the new students be able to accept our methods for ice-breaking? Or will they see it as something abominable?
